As a Mother & Daughter Day of Coordinating team, we are able to see your wedding from both perspectives. Karen is all about the timing, details and etiquette while Jessica is all about the design, decoration and ambiance! Jessica gives a hand to the bride and bride’s maids and makes sure everyone has the right bouquet, while Karen is keeping the parents in the moment.
Karen Goldberg-Liston, owner of A Wedding DOC, has been a professional wedding planner since 2000. Karen has been employed full time at popular wedding sites from the Western shore of Anne Arundel County to Maryland’s Eastern shore and in Baltimore City. Currently, she planning corporate events on a full time basis. Missing her interactions with brides and their families, she decided to use her knowledge of the wedding industry to personally help families enjoy their special day. “My favorite time in the process of planning a wedding was always the wedding weekend. I enjoy pulling all the details together and seeing them come to life.” So, having weekends free, Karen decided to combine her passion for Day of Coordinating with expertise in wedding planning to create her company A Wedding Doc. On a personal note, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 adult children. In the summer she can be seen cruising the Severn River while in the winter she loves to cuddle up on the couch with a blanket, hot chocolate, a good book and of course, her husband!
Jessica Liston graduated from Salisbury University and works full time for the American Red Cross, National Headquarters in Washington, DC. She has always enjoyed hearing stories about the bridal families her mom has helped. “Growing up listening to these stories, I feel like I have been planning weddings all my life.” Jessica enjoys spending time with her mom and decided to become a partner in A Wedding DOC. She helps to give the bridal family a “younger” perspective on the wedding day. The knowledge she has gained over the years has given her a keen sense of elegance and an eye for detail. She is the perfectionist who has the last look at the Ballroom before the bride and groom make their big entrance as husband & wife. When Jessica is not working, she can be found hanging with her roommates in her Arlington home, playing lacrosse with Salisbury alumni, or spending time with mom, family and friends.
